Tequila, Jalisco – I

In answer my daughter’s question – shared by, I assume many others – yes, there really is a town in Mexico called Tequila. And that town is in fact the epicenter for the famous beverage of the same name.

Tequila is justifiably an important cultural site. The city is designated a UNESCO Patrimonio Cultural de la Humanidad. And it is one of Mexico’s celebrated Pueblos Magico.

The town oozes charm as well as sophistication without sacrificing its soul and identity to rank commercialism which has been the harbinger of doom to so many other unique places in the world.
